Itinerary

Day 1

Viva Las Vegas!

We take off from Sofia before noon, and thanks to the time difference, we land in Vegas the same evening—ready for our first encounter with the city of lights, glamour, and endless entertainment possibilities.

Upon arrival, we check into the Days Inn by Wyndham, to freshen up and rest after the flight. The first evening is dedicated to free exploration—everyone can spend it as they wish or simply rest and prepare for the adventure that awaits us.

Las Vegas offers something for everyone—from luxurious casinos, world-famous shows, and gourmet restaurants to impressive fountain spectacles and attractive landmarks. You can stroll along The Strip, see the fountains at Bellagio, attend a Cirque du Soleil show, or try your luck at some of the world's most renowned casinos—Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, or The Venetian.

Day 2

Valley of Fire

The morning in Las Vegas begins with breakfast and preparation for the grand adventure. We take the campers – our mobile home for the next two weeks. After a brief orientation and shopping for everything needed for the journey, we head towards Valley of Fire State Park – one of the most remarkable natural parks in Nevada.

About an hour later, we enter the park – a world of red rocks and undulating shapes, seemingly straight out of a fantasy movie. If the heat allows, we'll take a short walk to Pink Canyon or White Domes Trail.

Our overnight stay is at Atlatl Rock Campground, in the heart of the park. We'll end the day with a sunset amidst petroglyphs, rock arches, and whimsical formations, and in the evening, we'll indulge in camper cooking and our first night under the endless desert sky.

Day 3

Zion National Park

The day begins early with a sunrise in the desert and a quick breakfast by the camper. Before we leave the Valley of Fire, we will take a morning stroll on the Fire Wave Trail – one of the park’s most iconic routes, where the colourful stripes on the rocks resemble ocean waves frozen in time.

After about two hours of driving through changing landscapes, we arrive at Zion National Park – our first stop in the iconic Utah’s Mighty 5. Once we park the RVs and board the park shuttle, we will head towards the Emerald Pools Trail – an enjoyable route with cascading waterfalls and natural pools nestled among the canyon.

If we have the time and desire, we can take a walk along the Pa’rus Trail – a flat route with views of the river and rocks, particularly beautiful at sunset.

Evening is for resting at the Zion White Bison Glamping & RV Resort, having dinner, and preparing for tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 4

Angel's Landing

We wake up amidst the grandeur of Zion and set off early to secure parking and start our day. Today, our main mission is the iconic Angels Landing – one of the most exhilarating and challenging hikes in America. The ascent takes 3–5 hours and rewards the brave with panoramic views that seem to embrace the entire canyon.

Due to the lottery system, part of the group may start in the morning, while others – at noon or in the afternoon. For those seeking an alternative, we suggest exploring The Narrows – a hike along the riverbed, between towering vertical walls, where the cool waters and light create a magical atmosphere. For this adventure, it's a good idea to rent special shoes and socks for cold water.

The free programme also offers other ways to explore Zion – jeep tours, horseback riding, canyoneering, guided tours in slot canyons, or even UTV adventures for those who want to experience the park from a different angle.

We stay overnight again at Zion White Bison Glamping & RV Resort.

Day 5

Bryce Canyon National Park

We have breakfast and set off on the picturesque road towards Bryce Canyon, with the day starting at two unique stops. First, we'll pass through the Belly of the Dragon – a tunnel carved into the rocks, reminiscent of the belly of a mythical creature. After a short walk, we head to the Sand Caves, where the sandy arches and light create beautiful colour hues.

Next, the road leads us to the Bryce Canyon National Park. We'll start at Rainbow Point, the park's highest point, where the views stretch for miles. On the way back, we'll stop at various panoramic overlooks to admire the amphitheatre-like rock formations and the shimmering colours of the hoodoos.

In the afternoon, we'll embark on one of the most popular trails – the Queen’s Garden & Navajo Loop Trail – a path that leads us among majestic rock spires, including the iconic Thor’s Hammer. If desired, we can add the Fairyland Loop or a short walk to the Mossy Cave Trail, or save them for sunrise – the next morning before departure.

Overnight at Ruby’s Inn RV Park.

Day 6

Capitol Reef National Park

Today we embark on one of the most picturesque journeys of the entire route – travelling along Scenic Byway 12, where every turn unveils new vistas of the boundless landscapes of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

If we set out early and the weather is favourable, we'll make brief stops for adventures along the way – from a walk to Escalante Natural Bridge, crossing the river, to the longer yet impressive hike to Lower Calf Creek Falls – a waterfall hidden amidst the desert.

In the afternoon, we arrive at Capitol Reef National Park, where we'll visit Panorama Point and Goosenecks Overlook – places from which Utah reveals its full might. If the road is too narrow for campers, we can take a short walk to the viewpoints.

In the evening, we anticipate a rest at Duke Slick Rock RV Campground in Hanksville, but for the tireless, there's a bonus – a sunset stroll, seeking hidden spots and those vibrant hues that make Utah so magical.

Day 7

Cosmic Morning and the Valley of the Goblins (Goblin Valley)

For the early risers, we have a special option – an extra tour with local guides (at an additional cost) to locations inaccessible to campers, places that will make you feel like you're on another planet. With 4x4 vehicles, we'll reach:

  • Moonscape Overlook – a panorama that seems plucked from a sci-fi movie, with its soft grey and blue hues changing with the rising sun.

  • Factory Butte – one of the most photogenic mesas in Utah, surrounded by desert and shaped like an isolated cosmic monolith.

  • Bentonite Hills – mystical hills with purple-red streaks, so surreal that many people wonder if the photos from there are AI-generated.

For those who want an even bigger adrenaline rush, you can hire a UTV or ATV and dive into true off-roading through the most otherworldly landscapes of Utah.

After the morning adventures, we head to Goblin Valley State Park – a magical place where peculiar rock formations, known as 'goblins', create the sensation of walking in another world. We'll have time to immerse ourselves in this natural labyrinth and take incredible photos.

The day concludes with an hour and a half drive to Seven Mile RV Park, which will be our home for the next two nights.

Day 8

Arches National Park

This morning we wake up with fully charged batteries, ready for a day dedicated to exploring Arches National Park – home to over 2,000 stone arches and awe-inspiring geological formations. The day will offer us both tranquility and excitement as we explore the park's most renowned and picturesque spots. This is your chance to discover the park at your own pace – on foot, with a camera in hand, or simply by soaking in the scenery.

There are plenty of options:

  • Arches Scenic Drive – 36 miles of breathtaking views and stops, taking 2–4 hours, depending on the number of photo breaks.

  • Delicate Arch Hike – 3 miles (around 2–3 hours) leading to Utah's most iconic arch, particularly stunning at sunset.

  • Devils Garden to Landscape Arch Loop – 1–3 hours amongst whimsical rock formations and the longest natural arch in the park.

  • Double Arch & Windows Section – impressive rock arches accessible by short walks from the car park.

  • Park Avenue – an easy one-hour trail between towering rock walls reminiscent of urban skyscrapers.

The day is entirely in your hands – we'll provide all the necessary instructions and tips, and you and your camper crew can choose one, two, or all if you have the energy, and immerse yourselves in the magic of the red rocks.

We send the sun back at Seven Mile RV Park, which is just a 10-minute drive from the entrance to Arches.

Day 9

Canyonlands & Dead Horse Point

We rise early to begin the day in Canyonlands National Park – the Island in the Sky area offers panoramic views that stretch beyond the horizon. We'll pause at the iconic Mesa Arch – a natural arch framing views of the boundless canyons, particularly captivating in the morning light. We'll also visit Grand View Point, where the vastness of the landscape truly takes your breath away.

Next, we head to Dead Horse Point State Park – one of the most spectacular places in Utah, where the curve of the Colorado River creates a dramatic scene often compared to the Grand Canyon.

In the afternoon, we embark on approximately a 3-hour journey to Monument Valley – the sacred land of the Navajo people and an icon of the American West.

Monument Valley is a sacred place for the Navajo people (Diné), whose culture and traditions are deeply woven into these lands. To them, the monumental rocks and red sands are not merely natural formations but spiritual symbols connected to the beliefs and stories of their ancestors.

We stay overnight at the KOA Journey Campground, nestled in the desert, under an endless starry sky that will remind us how far we are from the city lights.

Day 10

Monument Valley: The Sacred Land of the Navajo

We wake up amidst one of the most iconic landscapes of the American West. The morning is a time to feel the magic of the place – enjoy the sunrise, gaze at the majestic monolithic rocks, and listen to the desert's silence, interrupted only by the wind.

Before we set off, we will visit Forrest Gump Point: The famous photo spot on Highway 163, where the character Forrest Gump stops running in the film. Here we can take some shots of the unique road with an incredible backdrop of red cliffs.

Around midday, we embark on about a two-hour journey to Page, Arizona – a small town near the Utah border known for its proximity to some of the most breathtaking natural landmarks in the area. Time flows differently here - Page is in its own time zone (Mountain Standard Time), separate from the surrounding regions.

Here, we have several options for afternoon activities – from a walk to the iconic Horseshoe Bend, to water adventures like boating, kayaking, or jet tours on Lake Powell. We might simply enjoy the views towards the lake and the surrounding canyons as the sun paints the sky in warm colours.

We spend the night at Page Lake Powell Campground.

Day 11

Antelope Canyon & Lake Powell

Our day begins with a leisurely morning in Page—the morning is free for water activities at Lake Powell. We can embark on a kayaking or jet-ski tour, hop on a boat for a cruise among the dramatic canyons, or simply relax on the shore and take in the views.

The afternoon welcomes us with one of the most breathtaking natural masterpieces in the world—Antelope Canyon. The tour starts at 3:00 PM, leading us into a labyrinth of narrow paths, undulating walls, and beams of light that seep through the crevices, transforming the place into a living piece of art. A local Navajo guide will share with us the rich history and culture associated with this sacred site.

The evening is free for unwinding or a stroll through Page before we continue our adventure the next day. We spend the night again at Page Lake Powell Campground.

Day 12

A Day for Adventure - Lake Powell, The Wave or White Pocket

Today begins differently for everyone, offering complete freedom to choose your adventure. We'll participate in the lottery for The Wave – one of the rarest and most impressive places on earth. If someone in the group gets lucky and wins access, they'll rent a jeep with their camper companions and set off on a special journey through wave-like, colourful rocks that seem painted rather than sculpted by nature.

For the rest, the day offers equally exciting opportunities. We can visit White Pocket – a wilder and less known alternative that impresses with its unusual shapes and colours, reminiscent of an alien landscape. Another fantastic option is jet skiing in the canyons of Lake Powell – a whole day among rocks, water, and adrenaline. Boats can also be hired if desired, as well as panoramic helicopter flights over the area.

This is a day for choice, freedom, and a little extra magic in the heart of the desert.

Day 13

Grand Canyon South Rim

Today, we anticipate a two-hour journey to the southern rim of the Grand Canyon. We'll make stops at various viewpoints to soak in the endless vistas and take a stroll along a section of the Rim Trail – an easy path offering panoramic views of the canyon from different angles.

Our first stop upon arrival is the Desert View Watchtower, where we can enjoy our inaugural views of the Grand Canyon. This tower, inspired by Navajo architecture, offers panoramic scenes and splendid photo opportunities.

We continue to Yavapai Point, where we explore the canyon's geology museum. Here, we'll learn more about the canyon's formation and see incredible sights of the Colorado River.

We'll also visit Mather Point: One of the most popular photo spots on the southern rim, where the canyon seems endless. This spot offers a view of the canyon's immense breadth and depth.

For the adventurers, we can offer a short but challenging hike to Ooh Aah Point, which provides panoramic views from various angles of the canyon. This is the perfect spot for photography and breathtaking scenery.

In the evening, we'll wrap up with a first sunset over one of the most majestic places on the planet, or gather for a drink around the campers in Grand Canyon Camper Village.

Day 14

Grand Canyon National Park

Today is dedicated entirely to Grand Canyon National Park, and the plan is in your hands. This is your moment to choose the pace and adventures that call to you the most.

The most popular option for the active is the Bright Angel Trail – a path descending into the heart of the canyon offering views unseen from the rim. You can choose the length according to your time and energy, even a short part of the route is awe-inspiring.

For those seeking a more relaxed experience, there are many easily accessible viewpoints where you can simply unwind and soak in the vistas. And for those looking for an extra thrill – the park offers helicopter tours, horseback riding, jeep tours, and other excursions that show the canyon from a fresh perspective.

In the evening, we can gather at one of the western viewpoints to bid farewell to the day with another sunset painting the rocks in gold and crimson.

Day 15

Back to Civilization

After two adventure-filled days at the Grand Canyon, today we head back to Las Vegas, which is about a 4-hour drive – the longest distance we'll cover in a single day during the journey.

If the group desires, we can make a short stop to visit Hoover Dam – one of the most remarkable engineering projects in the USA, where we can explore the dam and learn more facts about its construction.

We conclude our journey with one long night and time for entertainment in the city of neon lights, casinos, and world-famous shows. We will stay once again at the Days Inn by Wyndham, where our adventure began.

Day 16

All In on Vegas

The last full day is completely free for us to soak in the atmosphere of Las Vegas at our own pace. The city offers an endless choice of entertainment, stunning views, and quirky but memorable experiences.

We can stroll along the Vegas Strip and see iconic hotels and casinos – from the majestic Caesars Palace and the romantic Venetian with its canals, to the dancing fountains of Bellagio. Those who love a good view can head to the top of the Stratosphere Tower or the observation wheel High Roller.

Tech and audio-visual show enthusiasts can book a ticket for The Sphere – a futuristic arena with 360° LED screens and incredible sound experience.

If you're looking for something different – Las Vegas also has museums like the Neon Museum with retro neon signs, the Mob Museum, or even the indoor botanical gardens at the Bellagio Conservatory.

The evening is the last chance to try your luck at the roulette table, see a Cirque du Soleil show, or simply enjoy the night-time sparkle of the city that never sleeps.

Day 17

Flight to Bulgaria

Breakfast at the hotel and some free time during the day – we might take one last stroll down the Strip, grab some souvenirs, or simply relax by the pool.

In the evening, we head to the airport (just 5 minutes from the hotel) for the flight back to Bulgaria. As the saying goes – what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas… unless, of course, we're leaving with a few extra million.

Day 18

Back Home

The long flight and time difference make this day and our return even longer. We land in Frankfurt in the afternoon, have a short connection, and in the evening, we arrive in Sofia—with a treasure trove of new stories, photos, and memories from an epic journey through the Southwestern States.

WHO WILL BE YOUR GUIDE?

Martin Bonov

Marto is a digital nomad with many hobbies, several professions, and little free time. He is the author of our programme and the person who will lead us to the most breathtaking views in Utah and Arizona.

Marto believes that the true magic of travel lies in the moments that take your breath away - a sunrise over the red rocks, a sunset in the desert, or the silence of endless horizons. For him, every SPOT holds its own beauty, and his mission is to help us uncover it – in the light, the landscape, and the shared experience. Every day will be like a scene from a film, and in the end, we won't believe where we've been and what we've seen.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is something unclear?

+359 883 392 314

For questions about the programme and activities:

+359 887 293 757

For questions related to payments, contracts, and terms:

How and when do I need to get my visa?

For most European citizens, including Bulgarians, it is necessary to obtain a tourist visa for the USA. The process involves completing the DS-160 form online, scheduling an interview at the American embassy, and paying a fee (usually around $200).

After registering and paying a deposit, you will need to begin the process and book an interview appointment as soon as possible.

To be issued a US visa, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned departure date from the USA. The visa will be added to it.

Is the Wild West of the USA safe?

National parks are safe and well-organised. The main risks are natural: extreme heat (up to 45°C+ in the desert during summer), dehydration during hikes, sudden flooding in the canyons (flash floods). Carry at least 3 litres of water per person per day. Snakes (rattlesnakes) are possible, but rarely aggressive. The roads are in excellent condition.

Are there risks from wild animals and insects?

National parks are home to a diverse array of wildlife, from deer and squirrels to more impressive inhabitants. With our guides, you navigate safely. Simple rules: don't leave food outside the camper, wear closed shoes on hikes, and step confidently so they hear you from afar. Animals avoid humans.

Are there any challenging treks?

The best way to experience the nature of the Southwest is by walking through it, so our program includes plenty of hikes and treks, some of which can be more challenging.

If you wish to skip one of the treks, you can always relax at the campsite or wait for us at a scenic viewpoint.

How much money should I take?

Travel expenses depend on your personal preferences:
Breakfasts, lunches, and dinners: Around $50–$70 per day.
Additional activities: Tours like helicopter flights or kayaking range from $50 to $400.
Souvenirs and personal expenses: Plan for at least $500 for the trip.

Most places accept card payments, so there's no need to carry a lot of cash.

What's the weather like in Utah and Arizona?

Desert and semi-desert climate. Summer (June-August): 35-45°C in low areas, cooler in the mountains. Winter (December-February): 0-15°C, snow possible in Utah. Spring and autumn (March-May, September-November): ideal, 15-30°C. Nights are cool year-round (desert effect). July-August: monsoon season (sudden afternoon storms). Sparse rainfall year-round.

How can I sign up for the additional activities?

Most extra activities are booked in advance as spaces are limited.

Before the journey, you will receive a list of activities you can sign up for.

What else should I know?

Internet and coverage: In some national parks, there is no coverage. Bring an external battery and download offline maps (Google Maps or Maps.me, etc.).

Temperature differences: During the day, temperatures are around 25–30°C, but at night they can drop to 5–10°C. Bring warm clothing.

Health and medication: Carry personal medication, sun protection (SPF 40+), and moisturizing cream, as the climate is dry.

Is there mobile internet in Utah and Arizona?

In the cities and on the highways, coverage is good (4G/LTE). In national parks (Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce, Arches), coverage is limited, especially in the canyons and remote trails. Wi-Fi is available in most lodges and visitor centres in the parks, but the speed is slow. In the desert sections of the route, there is no coverage.

Can I fly a drone?

In most national parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon), drones are not allowed, and fines are steep. Outside the parks, you can fly with a permit from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), which can be obtained online before your trip. We will provide guidance on when and where it is permitted.

Ready for an adventure?

The adventure through the national parks of the Southwest USA requires good preparation. We'll traverse diverse terrains – from desert landscapes and canyons to cool nights under the stars. To feel comfortable and ready for every challenge, we've compiled a list of the essentials:

Be prepared for large temperature fluctuations. During the day, temperatures can reach 25-35°C in parks like Zion, Bryce Canyon, and Arches, and 35-40°C in the lower and more desert areas (Page, Monument Valley, Valley of Fire). However, at night they drop significantly - to 15-20°C, and at higher altitudes (Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef) even to 5-15°C.
