The only way to truly get to know, experience, and enjoy it is to explore it with a camper and a camera, for around every bend lies a new surreal view that simply has to be captured forever. And that's not all – our adventure will take you to the hottest spot on earth!

Itinerary

Day 1

From Terminal 2 to Reykjavik

Meeting at Sofia Airport, Terminal 2 and departure for Reykjavik.

Day 2

Welcome to Iceland!

Our Icelandic tale begins with a short hike to the Fagradalsfjall volcano, which was recently active. The hike there takes about 2 hours and is suitable for everyone. The difficulty level is not high, and no special physical preparation is required.

We set off with our camper towards Skógafoss. Our Iceland will evoke a sense of timelessness. That timelessness that makes you feel nature and how it is stronger than us. Throughout this day, we will show you otherworldly waterfalls, volcanic craters, fairy-tale valleys, hot springs, fantastic landscapes, and incredible nature!

We await the beautiful natural phenomena of Iceland.

The next stop is the Kerid Crater, which was formed after a volcanic eruption about 3000 years ago. The lake within it boasts an incredible aquamarine color. Kerid itself is one of several crater lakes in the area known as the Western Volcanic Zone of Iceland.

We will spend an hour at Geysir, where many fumaroles are located. These are openings in the earth's crust that emit steam and gas.

Our journey continues to Iceland's most famous geyser – Strokkur (Haukadalsvegur). We will witness an incredible natural spectacle – the eruption of hot water and steam reaching heights of 20 to 40 meters. This natural phenomenon occurs every 5 to 10 minutes.

We continue to the next Icelandic marvel – Gullfoss Falls or the “Golden Waterfall.” This place is one of Iceland's natural wonders, and its cascading waters seem to disappear straight into the earth. Depending on the time we have, we will decide whether to continue to the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls.

Remember, we have our mobile homes and can spend the night wherever we choose!

Day 3

Alien beauty, untouched by human presence

The surreal landscape of Iceland and its otherworldly atmosphere will invoke feelings within you that you've never experienced before.  Our itinerary for this day includes alien-like locations that hide landscapes of wild and dramatic beauty, airplane wrecks, black beaches of unexpected beauty, canyons, waterfalls, and vistas untouched by human presence.

The date is 21 November 1973. Around 14:00 hours, a Douglas Super DC 3 aircraft, with a seven-member crew, made an emergency landing on Sólheimasandur. No injuries were reported.  Today, the white remains of the aircraft create a dramatic and mysterious atmosphere amid the dark volcanic sands. Here, we'll have a hike of about 2 hours, requiring no physical training. The path is level without any elevation gain.

Our journey will lead us towards the rock arch Dyrhólaey or Door Hill. With its volcanic origins, breathtaking views of the southern coast, abundant birdlife, and historic lighthouse, this place is one of the most beautiful in Iceland. Here you may also encounter Iceland's favourite resident—the Atlantic Puffin.

Our next stop is Iceland's most famous beach and one of the most renowned in the world—Reynisfjara Beach. The beach's black sands whisper tales of trolls and sea monsters with every step you take. A place where the wild and dramatic beauty of Iceland reigns, and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash with great force and roar. The stunning scene is further enriched by the impressive rock formations, the Reynisdrangar Seastacks, located near the shore. Legend has it that the Reynisdrangar are remnants from a battle between trolls and a three-masted ship.

We continue towards another natural wonder of Iceland. Do you remember the dragon flight scene in the first episode of Season 8 of Game of Thrones? That is the Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, located in the southeast of Iceland and our next stop. We continue to Skaftafell Camping, which is in the Skaftafell National Park.

Day 4

Wild camping beneath the towering steep cliffs of the Atlantic Ocean

Before breakfast, we have about a 30-minute hike towards the imposing Svartifoss waterfall. Its name literally means “The Black Waterfall” and it’s yet another of Iceland’s natural masterpieces. As a reward after the hike, you'll indulge in the unique PANIC pancakes.

In the southeast of Iceland, amidst the solitary wilderness, lies the glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón Ice Beach. Through the crystal blue waters drift icebergs of varying shapes and sizes from the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier.

We continue to Stokksnes – a peninsula on the southeast Icelandic coast, where one of Iceland’s most stunning mountains awaits us – Vestrahorn Mountain. This mountain and its incredible landscape are a true paradise for photographers. Here, we'll showcase a scene of the planet’s natural beauty with dramatic peaks reaching up to 454 m, contours from another dimension, a black beach, and a mystical atmosphere. A place that will capture your soul. Especially during sunrises and sunsets.

Tonight, we camp wild under the towering steep cliffs above the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 5

On the road to Europe's mightiest waterfall

After breakfast, we head towards the Dettifoss waterfall. The journey ahead will take about 4 hours, and along the way, you can enjoy the sight of black-grey sandy rocks that resemble a lunar landscape. Iceland preserves some of the most incredible views on Earth. Between fire and ice, among natural masterpieces and dramatic colours, every corner looks like it's straight out of the movies. Just like in a film is the Dettifoss waterfall, known as Europe's most powerful waterfall. The volume of falling water is 500 cubic metres per second, and the view will not disappoint you.

We set off towards the geothermal valley of Hverir, where the hot springs, endless landscapes, and pastoral colours create an otherworldly atmosphere. We haven't been to Mars, but we imagine it just like this, which is why we'll stay here for the night (wild camping).

We set off towards the geothermal valley of Hverir, where the hot springs, endless landscapes, and pastoral colours create an otherworldly atmosphere. We haven't been to Mars, but we imagine it just like this, which is why we'll stay here for the night (wild camping).

Day 6

From the volcano Krafla to the town of Akureyri

After breakfast, we head towards the Hverfjall crater and Goðafoss waterfall. Iceland is full of waterfalls, each beautiful and impressive in its own way. We will also see the most majestic of them all – the Goðafoss Waterfall, which is one of the country's most spectacular landmarks. Known as the "Waterfall of the Gods," it is a favourite spot for photographers today.

Our day comes to an end as we make our way to Akureyri, where, if you wish, you'll have the opportunity to go whale watching.

Day 7

Today we touch upon Game of Thrones as we set off towards the majestic peaks of Kirkjufell Mountain.

We will travel for about 6 hours towards Kirkjufell, where some of the most memorable scenes from Game of Thrones were filmed.

We're on our way to the next breathtaking view. Kirkjufell, or Church Mountain, is the most beautiful mountain on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and one of the most incredible in Iceland. After soaking in and capturing these views, we head to a nearby campsite where we will spend the night.

Day 8

A Free Day in Reykjavik

Today, you'll have the chance to explore the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. Here, you can enjoy cosy and colourful cafés where you can try amazing pastries. The city is filled with multicoloured houses and facades painted with unique graffiti. You'll see the Hallgrimskirkja Parish Church, which took 41 years to build. Standing at 73 metres, it's the largest church in Iceland and the sixth tallest architectural structure in the country. We will definitely stroll down the main shopping street, Laugavegur. This is the place where you can buy souvenirs and admire the impressive graffiti and flowers that adorn the entire city.

If you wish, we can visit the hot springs at Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, which are among the most famous attractions in Iceland.

Day 9

Farewell, Planet Iceland!

On this day, we fly back to Bulgaria. We bid farewell to the land of waterfalls and breathtaking landscapes. The land of glaciers and geysers. The land of the cold north and hot springs. The land of wild vistas. The land that creates stories. See you soon, Iceland!

Do you need a visa for Iceland?

No. Bulgaria has been a full member of Schengen since 1 January 2025. You enter Iceland with an ID card or passport, with no limit on your stay.

What's the currency and how much money should I carry with me?

In Iceland, payments are made in Icelandic króna (ISK). Card payments are accepted almost everywhere, including small shops and petrol stations. Most expenses are covered in the program, but set aside a small amount for souvenirs and personal purchases.

Are there any challenging treks?

Travel in Iceland doesn't involve challenging treks - just scenic walks.

When can I sign up for the additional activities?

Signing up for these activities will be done during the journey. Payment for some of them might require cash in hand.

Is there roaming and internet?

Iceland is part of the European Economic Area (EEA), so European roaming applies here too. You will have coverage almost all the time, except for some remote trails and the island's interior.

What else should I pack?

You can buy alcohol because the beer costs 7 euros… at the shop.

How long is our journey?

Our Iceland tour covers 2,200 km for the entire journey.

How many of us are in the camper?

In total, there are six of you – one driver and five guests.

Can I take my drone?

Of course, we'll be bringing ours along as well. In Iceland, European laws and regulations for drone flights apply, but permission is required in some areas near attractions.
