Why Faroe Islands?

18 islands that leave an impression on everyone who visits them

A place unlike any other in the world. A magical spot where human intervention is barely visible. The greenery of nature and the blue of the ocean merge into one. Peace and silence. Only the sound of the wind and the waves crashing against the rocks. And, of course, the sound of the surrounding sheep. Don’t we all want to find ourselves on a lonely island, immersed in the timelessness and magic created by nature? The Faroe Islands are exactly that place. 18 islands – 18 fragments of divine paradise, which leave a mark on the mind of everyone who has visited them.

Do you want to dive into the magical beauty of deserted islands, where every moment spent feels like a lingering memory from a fairy tale dream? Do you want to feel as if you're coming home, even though you're going to this home for the first time? Faroe's blue-green paradise reveals a new place and a new emotion to you every day. A place where the world's end merges with the infinity of the horizon. By day, our adventure will excite you with the magical thrill of endless green fields, rugged landscapes, and divine waterfalls, while in the evening, you'll indulge in a relaxing atmosphere in a jacuzzi with a glass of prosecco in hand.

About the Journey

Fairy Tale Décor

The merging of man and nature. A place where sheep outnumber the population twofold. Waterfalls leap out from every corner, and the rooftops are covered in greenery, as if part of a fairy tale setting. Trees are such a rarity that spotting one on the islands feels peculiar.

For ACCOMMODATION

Like at Home

When you arrive, you'll settle into the authentic and modern house surrounded by beautiful nature and the old Hoyvík, which hosts a museum and a small harbour. The place offers panoramic views of the sea and can accommodate 14 people. We have 6 bedrooms available, a dining table for 20 people, and an outdoor spa with a view of the sea.

Day 1

Welcome to the capital of the Faroe Islands, Tórshavn!

Next, you'll be transferred to your home for some well-deserved rest.

Day 2

Vagar Island – the 'calling card' of the islands

We begin our exploration of this magical corner with a visit to Múlafossur Waterfall on Vagar Island – the 'calling card' of the islands. The waterfall drops directly into the Atlantic Ocean from a height of 30 meters. Here, we will truly feel the grandeur of nature and the might of its creations. When the wind blows, the water sprays into the air, creating a phenomenal view. Places like these help us understand why the Faroe Islands are called 'Europe's best-kept secret.' The waterfall is easily accessible and just a 5-minute walk from where we'll stop.

Next, we head to Mykines Island – the most popular summer attraction of the Faroe Islands for good reason. It's a place where we'll be awestruck in a way that few places on Earth allow. We'll have time for a hike and to see as many puffins as we'll ever experience in our lifetime. This will happen if weather conditions permit.

Day 3

"Islands of Sheep" and a visit to the largest lake, Sørvágsvatn

Day 4

The settlement of Dúvugarðar in Saksun

Our journey through this incredible part of the world will lead us to the delightful Saksun, located just an hour away from the capital, Tórshavn. Saksun is a small village on Streymoy Island with a unique setting—it is nestled within a picturesque lagoon. In the past, the lagoon served as a harbour, but an overwhelming storm blocked it with sand. These very sands now attract people from near and far to marvel at this beauty. Twice a day, the lagoon is filled with seawater. This spot is a favourite for day trips, both among locals and tourists. During low tide, locals flock to the small village to

stroll along the lagoon’s shore to the beach. One of the main sights in the village is the church, whose roof is covered with greenery. There is also a rural museum. In the settlement of Dúvugarðar in Saksun, there are several

lovely houses, entirely clad in greenery, recreating the magical atmosphere of fairy tales. Waterfalls are plentiful here, offering breathtaking views next to the steep mountainous region.

Day 5

Island Kalsoy and the Kallur Lighthouse

You know there's always that one Instagram photo you fall in love with and

you decide that just because of that snap you'll visit the country? Well, that's exactly what happens with Kalsoy island and the Kallur lighthouse. The wild nature and dramatic views that envelop the island, along with the lighthouse peeking out between such majestic cliffs, are the magical place that will make you leave a piece of your heart here. It's no coincidence this location was chosen for filming the latest James Bond film – “No Time to Die”.

How do you get to Kalsoy from Klaksvik? Once we reach Klaksvik, the adventure begins – we'll take a ferry to Kalsoy island (from the Syðradalur ferry terminal). The journey takes about 20 minutes.

Day 6

Hike to Drangarnir the sea stacks

Hiking to Drangarnir the sea stacks – yet another of the bizarre and unique formations that only nature can create, leaving us merely to admire them. In places like these, we realize how small we are and what wonders exist in the world. Drangarnir is the name of two stacks (sheer cliffs near the shore formed by sea waves), situated between the island of Vágar and the charming little islet of Tindhólmur. The larger stack is called Stóri Drangur, and the smaller one is Lítli Drangur. They form an impressive open arch, which is the main attraction in this area. To reach the starting point of our adventure, we need to go to Tindhólmur, which takes about 1 hour by car. The tour begins in the village of Sørvágur. The hike takes about 5 hours and is of medium difficulty, but the ultimate goal and views are worth the effort. The moment you stand on the cliffs and the view of Drangarnir, with the waves crashing against it and the birds circling above, unfolds before you, all fatigue will be forgotten.

Day 7

Jacuzzi Day

Today, we will take a break from the adventures and all the emotions we've experienced over the past few days. We'll enjoy the comforts of our home. Everyone is free to do whatever they like. You can use the jacuzzi, and we'll have a daytime party to properly conclude this incredible adventure on the Faroe Islands.

Day 8

Farewell Faroe Islands!

The end of our journey through this wonderful, diverse, and captivating land.
