Day 1

Along the 'Troll Road'

You arrive in the capital, Oslo (Oslo Airport), where we'll be waiting with our mobile homes for the next few days, and set off towards Trollstigen. Imagine the freedom of waking up every day in a new place. Travelling with a camper gives exactly that feeling.

Oslo – Trollstigen, about 430 km.

Trollstigen, or 'The Trolls' Path', is one of the most picturesque and dramatic areas in Norway. It traverses a tourist route that features some of the country's most breathtaking views. It is nestled deep in the mountainous heart of the Rauma region in western Norway. Along the route, we'll encounter breathtaking vistas, stunning waterfalls, sheer cliffs, turquoise waters, and crystal-clear lakes. The road was opened in 1936 and today is among the most visited attractions in the country. Legend has it that trolls roam Trollstigen at night and turn to stone when touched by the sun's rays. This is one of those places where you feel the full might not just of Norway, but of the entire world. A place where humans and nature coexist as one. Evidence of this is the Trollstigen visitor centre facility, one of five architectural projects along the Geiranger-Trollstigen tourist route, designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. The site is a true architectural masterpiece, set amidst fantastic natural scenery.

Day 2

In the World of Geirangerfjord

Trollstigen – Geiranger, 150 km / 3 hrs.

Majestic mountains, breathtaking waterfalls, deep blue waters, and a surreal landscape that will transport us to a different world. This is the realm of Geirangerfjord – one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring Norwegian fjords. A fantastic view straight out of tales of ancient Vikings and mystical heroes.

Geirangerfjord is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its 15-kilometre length, snow-covered mountain peaks, imposing waterfalls, greenery, and deep blue waters, this fjord is one of the most stunning in the world. We'll also take a ferry to immerse ourselves even more in the incredible nature of the place. Amidst the cold, picturesque landscape lies the small village of Geiranger. With a local population of just 300 residents, the village boasts an untouched and authentic atmosphere. We offer you the opportunity, if desired, to explore the area by kayak, where you will delve deeper into the Scandinavian charm of Geiranger. At the end of our second day of travel, we will light a fire and prepare dinner on the shore of this fantastic place. If we are lucky and skilful enough with the fishing rods, we might enjoy freshly caught cod.

Day 3

A Journey Through the Mystical Architecture of Norway

Geiranger – Stryn – Loen – Olden, 100 km/2-4 hrs.

Norway possesses an incredible spirit. It’s a place where the atmosphere of the Viking era and those cinematic landscapes come alive. Norway hides in the small, quaint villages that resemble illustrations from storybooks. On the third day of our journey, we’ll reveal this enchanting side to you.

After breakfast, we head towards Stryn – Loen – Olden. A journey to cozy Scandinavian towns awaits us, where we will enjoy the mystical Norwegian architecture. The small Norwegian villages have pastel tones and distinctive shades. They stand out with their architectural character and authenticity. We'll see them nestled within lush green forests, close to breathtaking waterfalls.

Next up is an extraordinary experience near Olden, where we can take a wooden boat ride on Lake Oldevatn, certain that you’ve never witnessed water so turquoise before. We’ll spend the night at Olden Camping Gytri and have a chance to enjoy a BBQ.

Day 4

Icy Adventure in National Park Jostedalsbreen

Briksdalsbreen Glacier

Amidst the roaring waterfalls and towering peaks within the perfect nature of Norway lies the popular Briksdalsbreen Glacier. Briksdalsbreen is an arm of the large Jostedalsbreen Glacier and is located within the Jostedalsbreen National Park. Adventurers from all corners of the globe come to visit this glacier, which cascades down from 1200 metres into the stunning Briksdalen Valley. After our icy adventure, we return to Olden. You'll have free time to soak up the Norwegian atmosphere, and if you wish, we can offer you a sail in a wooden boat.

Day 5

Wild camping, fishing, and dinner

Olden – Borgund Stave Church – Lærdal, 170 km/3 hrs.

After breakfast, we head to our next adventure stop. Lærdal is famous for one of the longest road tunnels in the world – 24.5 km. We'll pass by the impressive Bøyabreen Glacier, another magical wonder of Norway. The glacier boasts an awe-inspiring presence, which we can enjoy up close from the main road in Fjærland. Its full splendour can be admired from the large panoramic windows of the Brevasshytta café, where you might see huge blocks of ice crashing down. The Norwegian Glacier Museum displays pieces of this imposing glacier.

Our next stop is the Borgund Stave Church. Here, it feels like you've stepped straight into a fairy tale. Like the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, our next stop, the wooden Borgund Stave Church, will immerse us in wonder. Known as the 'Viking Church,' it is one of the best-preserved and most authentic churches in Norway. Built around 1180, it features exquisite architecture. It is richly adorned with carvings, most notably the four dragon heads on the roof, reminiscent of the dragon-headed carvings on Norwegian ships.

After visiting the church, we've arranged for you wild camping, fishing, and dinner,

immersing you in the enchanting Norway, surrounded by waterfalls and endless mountain peaks near Lærdal.

Day 6

Natural Wonders of Norway

Lærdal – Aurland – Odda, 200km / 3.5 h.

After breakfast, we head towards Odda, passing through Aurland, where we'll witness more of Norway's natural masterpieces.

High above the small Norwegian town of Aurland rises the Aurland Lookout platform. Situated 650 meters above sea level, this spot offers an incredible panoramic view of Aurlandsfjord and the entire area. Opened in 2006, it quickly became one of the most photogenic places in the region. This is a place where you feel on top of the world.

The next stop is Odda – the starting point for the climb to Trolltunga. In the evening, we will stay in a comfortable house with all amenities. Following this is free time, optional fishing, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 7

Get ready for a trek to Trolltunga

Trolltunga – Hike 23 km-30 km total/about 12 hrs.

Trolltunga or 'The Troll's Tongue' is a rock formation shaped like a horizontal ledge, situated about 1100 metres above sea level in the Skjeggedal valley. Trolltunga is a favourite amongst adventurers, thrill-seekers, and those looking to gaze at the world from above. Sitting on the edge feels like the world is at your feet. An adventure found nowhere else.

The hike to Trolltunga with us will take you beyond your own boundaries, shaking you with emotions from the experience. The journey is about 12 hours, 23km-30 km, but it’s not too tough and has an elevation gain of about 900m. The popularity of the Trolltunga hike has skyrocketed in recent years, turning Trolltunga into a national icon and a major tourist attraction for the region. Until 2010, fewer than 800 people made the journey to Trolltunga annually. In 2016, over 80,000 people embarked on the 27-kilometre journey from Skjeggedal, making it one of Norway's most popular hikes. Trolltunga is a place you’ll never forget.

After the hike, we return to Odda, where we will spend the night in a modern campsite, unwinding after the long trek.

There's a private road offering transport, which comes at an additional cost and saves us 3 hours from the entire hike. The shuttle fare is 330 NOK (approximately 70 BGN per person for a return journey).

Day 8

Heading towards the majestic rock of Preikestolen

Odda – Pulpit Rock Parking – Preikestolen (Preikestolen) – Jørpeland, 200km / 4 hrs.

On the eighth day of our adventure, we set out towards one of Norway's popular attractions. After breakfast, there's free time until noon, and then we head towards the impressive rock of Preikestolen.

Preikestolen is also known as ‘Pulpit Rock’ and ‘Prayer Rock’ – a commanding big rock hanging 604 meters above the water. Its flat shape resembles a square with dimensions of 30x30, and today it’s one of the most popular sights in Norway. A perfect spot to gaze at the world from above and once again admire the country’s astounding nature. From its peak, there’s a breathtaking panoramic view of the colourful valleys and blue sea waters. An extraordinarily photogenic place with an otherworldly landscape. In the evening, we look forward to dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 9

Hiking Adventure to Preikestolen

Hiking to Preikestolen, 4 hrs /7.6 km

Today, our programme will once again introduce us to places where you can feel the raw and supernatural Scandinavian nature.

This day we've prepared a hike to Preikestolen, lasting around 4-5 hours, with a distance of about 7.6 km. The hike consists of hilly terrain with an elevation change of 350 metres. Along the way, there will be wonderful spots where we can soak in the area's pure spirit, as well as various rest areas. At the top of the plateau, a mesmerising view of one of Norway’s most beautiful fjords – Lysefjord – awaits us. It's important to check the weather conditions at all times.

The evening concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at a campsite at the foot of the mountain.

Day 10

Setting off towards Oslo

Preikestolen (Preikestolen) – Oslo Airport (Oslo Airport), 500km/8 hrs.

Preikestolen and its impressive cliff are left somewhere behind us as we head towards Oslo after breakfast. We're looking at about eight hours on the road and 500 km to the capital of Norway.

Day 11

Goodbye Norway!

Last morning in Norway. A trip to Oslo airport and a warm farewell to all those memories of beautiful Norway with the most stunning fjords, majestic waterfalls, glaciers, cliffs, and astonishing landscapes from another world. See you soon, Norway! Until we meet again!

WHY TRAVEL WITH US?

Who are we?

Panic Frame & Travel is not a commercial travel agency. We don't offer you tranquility, tickets, or accommodation in an all-inclusive hotel with white tablecloths. We see ourselves as Tarzan tourists, organizing journeys to hard-to-reach places, encountering wild nature, and traveling by campers, catamarans, off-road jeeps, and even helicopters.
