About the Journey
I’m just wondering where our journey should begin.
Perhaps it's most logical to start with the beginning and end point of the journey. The capital Seoul is a super-modern metropolis where traditions also thrive. To touch upon a completely different, yet still Korean world, we'll hop over to the Demilitarised Zone—an almost surreal place dividing one people into two countries.

And then we will journey back to experience the richly diverse South Korean culture. The same can be said for nature, which will introduce us to towering mountains, whimsical rocks, a lengthy cave, dormant volcanoes, and an island that is, quite literally, among the wonders of the world. Our extreme adventures will be interspersed with visits to villages frozen in time, as we sample craft beer and organic tea. And after all that, the nightlife of the capital awaits us. And countless more delights for all the senses, about which you can learn more details in our programme.

Itinerary
Day 1
Seoul
We arrive at the airport in the South Korean capital, where our local representative will greet us. We settle into the voco Seoul Myeongdong by IHG 4* hotel and, for a 'welcome', head to a night bar to immerse ourselves in the first rhythms of Seoul.
Day 2
A Touch of North Korea and Korean Culture
After breakfast, we head north – towards Paju and the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ), the border strip between North and South Korea, which has become one of the most historically charged areas in the world.
We will visit Imjingak Park, created with the hope for future reunification, where the Bridge of Freedom is also located, built during the division of the peninsula at the end of the Korean War.
Then we delve into the Third Tunnel, dug by North Koreans with the intent to secretly enter South Korea. We climb to Dora Observatory, from which – on a clear day – you can see the 'Propaganda Village' in North Korea. Our last stop in the zone is Dorasan Station, a symbol of hope that one day there will be a direct connection between the two countries.
After lunch, we expect a walk on the Gamak Mountain Suspension Bridge – the longest suspension bridge in Korea at 220 metres. It’s named 'Gloucester Heroes Bridge' in honour of the British soldiers from the Gloucestershire Regiment who fought in the battles during the war.
We return to Seoul, and in the evening, we'll enjoy the NANTA show – a culinary, musical, and theatrical spectacle that embodies the Korean spirit and has catapulted many of today’s film stars to fame.
We'll end the day with a stroll through the bustling district of Myeongdong, famed for its street food, high-quality cosmetics, and unique urban atmosphere.
Overnight: voco Seoul Myeongdong by IHG 4*
Day 3
Palaces, Traditions, and Modern Seoul
After breakfast, we head to the heart of historic Seoul – the Gyeongbokgung Palace, constructed in 1394. It is the largest and most impressive palace from the Joseon Dynasty era. Its name translates to 'Palace of Shining Happiness' – and we will certainly feel why.
In this special place, we will have the opportunity to dress in traditional Korean attire – hanbok, immersing ourselves even deeper into the atmosphere of the past.
We continue to Bukchon Hanok Village – a charming neighbourhood where dozens of traditional Korean houses (hanok) are preserved and still inhabited today. The streets here offer views worthy of a film set.
After lunch, we will ascend to the N Seoul Tower, located on Namsan Mountain – a favourite spot for locals due to its panoramic view of the city.
To end the day, we'll stroll through Seongsu-dong Café Street – an industrial area transformed into the trendiest zone in Seoul. Former factories and shoemaking shops now house designer cafes, art spaces, and young creative brands. The place buzzes with energy, creativity, and the aroma of great coffee.
Overnight: voco Seoul Myeongdong by IHG 4*
Day 4
Jeju Island – a natural wonder and volcanic paradise
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and head to Gimpo Airport for an internal flight to Jeju Island (duration: about 1 hour and 10 minutes).
Jeju Island is rightly considered one of the world's most breathtaking natural wonders. In addition to being a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (2002), part of the World Natural Heritage (2007), and a Global Geopark (2010), it is also the only autonomous province in South Korea.
Its landscape is a true symphony of extinct volcanoes, azure beaches, and fishing villages that preserve the spirit of the island. The stone statues - strange, mystical, almost alive - watch over every corner.
We'll take a panoramic tour of Jeju City, then experience something truly authentic – a traditional brewing experience. We will watch how a local alcoholic beverage, typical of the island, is prepared and, of course, we'll taste it.
In the afternoon, we will take a hike to the peak of Sungsan Ilchulbong, also known as the “Sunrise Peak” – because it's from here that the sun's rays first appear every morning. Formed over 10,000 years ago during a submarine volcanic eruption, today it stands 182 meters above the sea, with a preserved crater with a diameter of 600 m and a depth of 99 m, surrounded by dramatic sheer cliffs.
The climb is about 1 km (30–40 minutes), and the descent about 20 minutes. The view from the top is more than rewarding – a feeling of endless freedom and beauty.
Accommodation at Kensington Resort Seogwipo 4*.
Overnight stay on Jeju Island.
Day 5
Cliffs, Temples, Tea and Views to Infinity
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and start the day with one of the island's most impressive natural wonders – the Jusangjeoli Cliff. We'll take a closer look aboard motorboats, getting up close to the monumental stone columns shaped like cubes and hexagonal prisms, carved by lava during the eruption of Mount Hallasan. They appear as though crafted by human hands but are, in fact, nature's creation.
After lunch, we'll delve into the realm of tranquility – visiting the Yakcheonsa Buddhist Temple, one of the largest in Asia. With architecture that blends strength and grace, the temple offers peace and reflection amidst green hills.
We will take a short photo break at Osulloc Tea Farm – the largest organic tea farm in Korea, renowned for its picturesque green fields and the scent of freshly picked leaves.
We continue with a stroll along Aewol Café Street, a scenic area filled with designer cafés, stylish interiors, and endless sea views. The Handam Coastal Walkway and Gwakji Beach await us with crystal-clear air, waves, and an incredible atmosphere.
Afterwards, we head to Jeju Airport for an evening flight to Busan (around 1 hour).
Check-in at RAMADA ENCORE BY WYNDHAM HAEUNDAE 4*.
Stay overnight in Busan.
Day 6
Busan – adrenaline, history, and views over the water
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and start the day with a dose of adrenaline – we’ll go sledding at Skyline Luge Busan, one of the most fun experiences in the city. The courses are suitable for both beginners and the more daring participants, with sea views as a bonus.
We continue to one of the few temples in Korea located by the sea – Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. Built in 1376 by the great Buddhist teacher Naong, the temple offers not only a spiritual atmosphere but also a spectacular view of waves crashing against the rocks below.
After lunch, we head to the colourful side of Busan – Gamcheon Cultural Village. Created during the difficult years after the Korean War, today this artistic village is like a living gallery: hills painted in pastel colours, street art, small workshops, artistic cafes, and an incredible view of the sea.
Afterwards, we will take the cable car to reach the Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge – at 127 metres long, it offers a unique sensation of walking above the water with a breathtaking panorama.
We finish the day at the legendary Jagalchi Fish Market – the largest fish market in Korea and one of the most famous in the world. Here you will find an incredible variety of freshly caught fish and seafood – the perfect place for curious palates and cameras.
Overnight: RAMADA ENCORE BY WYNDHAM HAEUNDAE 4*
Day 7
Underground Wonders and Digital Art
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and head northeast towards the Samcheok region – home to one of the most impressive natural wonders in Korea.
In the afternoon, we are in for an experience that will literally take us beneath the surface – Hwanseongul Cave, the largest limestone cave in Korea and one of the most extensive in Asia. Formed over 530,000 years ago, it offers breathtaking views of stalagmites, stalactites, stone pillars, underground waterfalls, and a total of ten lakes.
Its total length reaches 6.5 km, but 1.6 km is open to visitors. You can reach the entrance by a monorail, which takes about 7 minutes. Entering the cave, we will feel like we’ve stepped into an ancient underground city – its scale, formations, and water wonders truly impress.
After the adventure underground, we head to Gangneung, a coastal city on the eastern shoreline, where we dive into the world of digital art with a visit to the Arte Museum – a multimedia museum where sound, light, and projections create a whole new reality.
Check-in at St. John Hotel.
Overnight in Gangneung.
Day 8
High Ropes, Wisdom, and Mountain Serenity
After breakfast, we start the day with something unconventional – Aranabu Sky-Bike Riding. We will have the chance to choose between descending an alpine zipline or cycling on a wire high above the ground – a guaranteed experience for adventurers and lovers of panoramic views.
Then we dive back into history with a visit to Ojukheon House – the birthplace of Yi I (yes, that's really his name), one of the most famous Korean Confucian scholars from the Joseon Dynasty period. The house is one of the oldest wooden structures in the country and an important part of Korea's cultural heritage.
After lunch, if weather permits, we take a lift to the majestic Seorak Mountain – hailed as the most beautiful in South Korea. Towering amidst dramatic cliffs and evergreen forests, it is home to a Buddhist temple where we'll spend a tranquil afternoon.
We’ll wander through the temple complex, get to know the monastic way of life, participate in a traditional tea ceremony, converse with Buddhist monks, and make our own prayer beads – an experience that combines silence, ritual, and mindfulness.
We conclude with a short stroll along the mountain paths before heading back to the St. John Hotel.
Overnight in Gangneung.
Day 9
Gangnam Style, heights and farewell, Korea
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and head back to Seoul, where we will immerse ourselves in the glamorous side of the South Korean capital.
Our first stop is Gangnam – the most famous and luxurious district in South Korea, a symbol of modern Korean lifestyle and global pop culture. The streets here are filled with designer boutiques, glass skyscrapers, and an urban pace that never pauses.
We continue to the Starfield Coex Mall – the largest underground shopping mall in Asia, featuring over 300 shops and restaurants spread across four levels. One of the most photographed spots in the entire mall is the famous library with 13-meter high shelves, a beloved place for selfies and inspiration.
In the afternoon, we will ascend to SEOUL SKY – the observatory located between the 117th and 123rd floors of the Lotte World Tower, the tallest building in South Korea and the fifth tallest in the world (555 m). From here, a breathtaking panorama of the entire city unfolds.
We'll walk on the glass floor of the world's highest observatory, listed in the Guinness World Records, and have time for a short snack or coffee at the cozy Café of the Sky Terrace, situated at 478 meters high.
In the evening – transfer to Incheon Airport and departure for Bulgaria with the Turkish Airlines flight Seoul – Istanbul.
