Machu Picchu
The City That Time Forgot
Hidden high among the clouds, surrounded by mist, peaks, and mysteries, Machu Picchu is a place that isn't just visited – it is felt. The ascent at dawn is like a journey through time – from the first rays of sun illuminating the ancient stone terraces to the moment your gaze meets the legendary view of the citadel, embraced by mountains. With every step, with every breath, you understand why this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
Here, history isn’t written in books – it’s carved in stone, woven in the moss on the walls, and whispering in the air. You will wander through temples, water channels, and secret stairways, created without a gram of mortar – so precisely that even today architects can only guess how. And if you decide to climb to the top of Huayna Picchu – you will discover Peru from a new angle, which will stay with you forever.

The Seven-Coloured Mountain and the Red Valley
Landscapes That Seem Unreal
In a world filled with selfie destinations, there are places that take your breath away not because of the photo but because of the experience. The Seven-Coloured Mountain – Vinicunca – rises like a giant palette, painted by nature itself with minerals, time, and wind. Climbing over 5,000 meters is a challenge, but the reward at the top is complete silence, a spectacular panorama, and a sense of sacredness that's hard to put into words.
Just an hour away lies the hidden gem – the Red Valley. No crowds, no noise – just the soft contours of hills reminiscent of a Martian landscape, and the feeling that you've stepped into another world. This day isn't just a nature walk – it's a portal to a deeper inner experience.
Huacachina Oasis and the Desert Dunes
Adrenaline in the Sands of South America
Peru isn’t just mountains and archaeology – it hides one of its most unexpected landscapes deep in the desert: Huacachina – a small oasis surrounded by giant dunes and palm trees, with a lagoon that reflects the sunset like a mirror. You arrive and it feels like stepping into a fairy tale – or a movie set, where you are the main character.
But here, tranquillity is just the beginning. You climb with a buggy along the edge of sand hills, glide down with a sandboard with your heart pounding in your throat, and sip on a pisco sour by the water as the stars begin to dance above the desert. This is a place that simultaneously boosts adrenaline and soothes the soul – the perfect blend of adventure and magic.

What documents do I need for Peru?
No visa is needed for Bulgarian citizens for a tourist stay of up to 90 days. You only need a valid international passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date of entry. It's wise to have a copy of your return ticket and reservation for the first night's stay – sometimes they ask for them at the border.
Which days involve long hikes and how long are they?
On Day 11 and Day 12, longer routes are planned—approximately 12 km and 14 km. On the remaining days, we foresee shorter and lighter walks.
Is there roaming and internet?
Roaming is available, but it’s expensive. We recommend getting a local SIM card with internet or using an eSIM from Europe – there’s stable coverage in the cities and tourist areas. However, in the Amazon and high mountain regions, the internet is weak to non-existent – just as it should be when you're deep in the jungle or gazing at Machu Picchu.
What's the currency and how much money should I carry with me?
The local currency is the Peruvian sol (PEN). You can exchange euros or dollars at the SPOT, and there are ATMs in larger cities. It's good to have cash for local markets, tips, and smaller SPOTS where cards are not accepted. How much money to bring? It depends on your personal habits, but roughly around 200–300 euros for a week should be plenty for food, souvenirs, and personal expenses.
Do we need to carry a mountain backpack during the hikes?
The backpack is optional. We recommend a light, small daypack for:
a thin outer garment and raincoat
sunglasses and a hat
external battery (power bank)
high-energy food/snacks
insect repellent
personal hygiene items
a water bottle.
If you prefer to walk load-free, our local guides have a small transport bag (up to 5 kg) where you can leave items. They will be carried to the day's destination.
What kind of physical preparation is needed?
We recommend that in the weeks leading up to your trip, you take regular walks 2-3 times a week, ideally mountain hikes lasting a few hours and inclines/stairs walking. Comfortable, well-worn shoes are essential.
Can I take my drone?
Yes, but with conditions. Hobby drones under 2 kg don't require a license, but local rules must be strictly followed – flying over archaeological sites (like Machu Picchu) is forbidden, as is flying in nature reserves without permission, and in populated SPOTS. If you're looking to capture stunning shots with your drone, we'll guide you on when and where it's safe and permitted.
Is there a risk from wild animals and danger from insects?
Peru is home to a rich biodiversity – jaguars, anacondas, llamas, and a whole host of other creatures. But don't worry – our program includes no risks of dangerous encounters, unless you venture out alone into the jungle (which we don't recommend). You'll find mosquitoes in the Amazon, so insect repellent and long sleeves will be necessary during those days. In the Andes, there are hardly any insects.
Do we need to bring tents and sleeping bags?
No need. We provide tents and sleeping bags on the SPOT.
