WhyBritish ColumbiaWhere to next?

A sense of freedom, independence, and incomparable emotions on wheels

The best way to discover Canada is to start with British Columbia. We'll visit four of the largest national parks: Glacier, Banff, Jasper, and Yoho. This is the land of plenty. Nature has truly outdone itself with all the incredible places it has created. After the adventure and encountering the wild and pristine nature, you'll completely rethink your life. Canada is a country with a total of 38 national protected parks. British Columbia is the most western province in Canada, home to approximately 5.1 million people. The capital is Victoria, while the largest city is Vancouver. Spain and Russia have both contested its territory, and during the Gold Rush, thousands came here hoping to build a better future for themselves and their families. After everything that's been happening around the world in recent years, we need positive emotions and to make up for lost time. Well, this is the perfect place for a restart, because you'll feel like the main character from "The Call of the Wild." They say dreams are always more beautiful than reality. But while we're on our adventure, believe us, you won't want to close your eyes.

A sense of freedom, independence, and unparalleled emotions on wheels – that's just part of the experience when travelling by camper. Our mobile homes are 2018-2019 models, a type of motorhome – imagine a studio apartment on wheels with two king-size beds and one single bed, a bath, toilet, wardrobes for clothes, a kitchen, WiFi, and 220W power. And that's not all. Each camper comes with a driver who will also be your guide during the journey. Your mobile homes will be waiting for you, stocked with food and drinks. The campsites we've chosen offer showers, kitchens, and fantastic locations. Food is all-inclusive.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Vancouver!

Meet at the airport and depart for Vancouver. Check into the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 2

Flight Ultimate Glacier Tour

We set off from Vancouver to Whistler, which is 130 km away and takes about 2 hours by camper. Once we arrive, we'll embark on an unforgettable seaplane tour, lasting around 2 hours. The views we'll witness are truly unique.

The glaciers ruled 15,000 years ago, buried so deeply that only the peaks of the highest parts could feel the warmth of the afternoon sun. This amazing flight allows you to spend maximum time enjoying the alpine mountains and to see how these massive volcanoes and powerful ice rivers shape and carve the magnificent nature. Imagine a remote alpine lake, hidden between jutting peaks, covered with hanging blue glaciers. Now, imagine landing above a magnificent waterfall and reaching a pristine golden sandy beach.

Relax and breathe in the fresh mountain air while enjoying the stunning scenery. The flight includes all the highlights of the Ultimate Glacier Tour. We'll spend the night at Whistler RV Park and Campground.

Day 3

The Adventure in Glacier National Park of Canada

We leave Whistler behind and head towards the next adventure waiting for us at Glacier National Park of Canada – a 550 km journey, taking between 6 and 8 hours by car. The road is long, but the views that unfold along the way will help time fly and fill you with positive emotions.

After the long journey, we will settle into a campsite in the area. This place is incredible. Here we'll blend in with nature, you'll have your ‘media detox’, and get acquainted with the locals, who are very friendly. The area around the campsite is grizzly bear territory, so there's a chance we might meet them too.

Day 4

From Mount Bonney to Banff National Park

Today, we're set for a gentle hike to Marion Lake. Exploring Glacier National Park is a wonderful way to get acquainted with the Columbia Mountains, which are rich in natural wonders and steeped in history. The trails through the glaciers range from short walks through ancient rainforest to ambitious climbs with dramatic mountain views. To reach Marion Lake, we'll walk about 3.6 km, which takes around 1.30 hours. The elevation gain is 461 m (from 1245 m to 1706 m). By following the trail along Abbott Ridge, we'll enjoy the view of Marion Lake. This small body of water is named after the daughter of the Reverend William Spotswood Green.

He visited the lake in 1888 with his cousin Henry Swanzy, on their way to Mount Bonney. At the lake, the reverend tried his luck with fishing, but with no success. In his diary, he wrote: “I'm inclined to believe that the reason the fish aren't biting is simply that there are none here.” The harsh climate of small lakes like this one, whose waters are low in nutrients, along with the inaccessible location, make colonisation of fish life impossible. From the lake, we can take a short side trip to a viewpoint over the Trans Canada Highway. From this spot, we can see trains entering or exiting the Connaught Tunnel. The tunnel was completed in 1916 as a means of protecting rail traffic from the deadly avalanches of Rogers Pass.

The journey to Banff National Park is about 240 km, which will take us 3-4 hours by car. We'll also pass by Emerald Lake, located in Yoho National Park.

It's one of the iconic sites in Canada, so you've likely seen its pictures on Instagram. Beautiful turquoise waters, surrounded by magnificent mountains that tower around it, with peaks reflecting in the lake.

We'll camp overnight at Tunnel Mountain Village II.

Day 5

Sunrise by Moraine Lake and canoeing at Lake Louise

We'll start the day with an incredible sunrise at Moraine Lake and canoeing at Lake Louise. Today, we’ll need to rise very early, but trust us—the view that will greet us and start our day is well worth it. Moraine Lake is a favourite spot for tourists. Watching the sunrise is a tradition for the more motivated travellers. One great thing is that we'll enjoy an amazing view. The other is that we'll avoid the crowds that appear later in the day. This lake is nestled between the majestic mountains and beautiful forests of Canada. The water is so blue, you'll wonder if you're still dreaming.

Lake Louise is the calling card of Banff National Park. It’s also one of the most famous lakes in Canada and one of the most visited lakes in the world. It's truly incredible. The water has such a beautiful blue hue, and the mountains reflect in it like a postcard. The place is magical, and you'll fall in love with it. Amidst this incredible beauty, we’ll grab the canoes and dive into our adventure to savour the atmosphere longer and more closely. We’ll camp overnight at Tunnel Mountain Village II campground.

Day 6

Free time exploring Banff National Park

If you're feeling adventurous, you can embark on a hike on your own. The range of trails in this region is vast. While you delight in Canada's untouched wilderness, our professional chef will prepare a true culinary experience for you. Banff National Park is the first national park in Canada, established in 1885 and currently the most visited. It covers 6,641 sq. km. It's adorned with numerous glaciers, ice fields, coniferous forests, and alpine landscapes. There's plenty to offer for those with an adventurous spirit and a thirst for exploring new wild places. Overnight stay once again at Tunnel Mountain Village II campground.

Day 7

On the road to the Canadian Rockies

We set off from Banff and head towards Jasper National Park and Peyto Lake, which is 400km away, about 4 to 6 hours by car. Jasper National Park spans 11,000 square kilometres and is the largest in the Canadian Rockies region. It's wild in every sense of the word, with grizzly or moose sightings quite common. While other areas have seen dramatic declines in wildlife, here strong populations of plants and animals persist. Established in 1907, it boasts over 990 km of hiking trails suitable for both day and multi-day excursions. Peyto Lake is another place that will captivate us with its incredible views and atmosphere. The panorama from the hill overlooking the lake and mountains is breathtaking. The blue sky blends with the towering rocky mountains, green forests, and the turquoise waters of the lake. We will camp overnight at Wapiti campsite.

Day 8

The Glacier Adventure at Jasper National Park

The icy fields of Columbia stir emotions that you'll remember for a lifetime. At the heart of this unforgettable experience are ancient stories, breathtaking landscapes, and the feeling of embarking on an extraordinary adventure. We will explore the ancient Athabasca Glacier on a giant ice explorer, learn more about the glacial formations, and step directly onto the glacier itself. Then the story comes alive as we walk across the glass bridge Skywalk. Here you'll literally feel like you're at the edge of the world and understand why this destination will change your life. The views you'll face will seem unreal, painted, or edited with strong filters. Well, this is the incredible nature of British Columbia. Starting and ending our adventure at the Glacier Discovery Centre, we'll feel like we've witnessed a true wonder. We'll also pass by Horseshoe Lake. This lake isn't one of the famous ones in the region. Here, we'll fully enjoy nature and the absence of tourists. The scenery is very beautiful, and those of you with a more extreme adventurous spirit can swim in the water or jump off one of the rocks. Many locals come here to have fun.

After this adventure, we depart from Yoho National Park and head towards Athabasca Falls & Sunwapta Falls, which is 250 km away, about a 3-4 hour drive. Athabasca Falls is one of the biggest attractions within Jasper National Park. It is 23 meters high and 18 meters wide. At this site, the mighty Athabasca River narrows, and the seemingly calm river bursts over the Athabasca Falls. The river stretches over 1231 km, originating from Jasper National Park at the end of the Columbia Glacier and flowing through the province of Alberta towards the massive Lake Athabasca, spanning the borders between Alberta and Saskatchewan. This waterfall may not be the tallest you’ve ever seen, but the volume of water, surrounding nature, and the roaring noise created by the falling water will leave an unforgettable memory of this place. Sunwapta Falls consists of upper and lower falls. It's not the tallest either, but its terraced form makes it exceptionally beautiful. We will spend the night at Yoho Campsite.

Day 9

The Incredible Harrison Lake

We leave Yoho National Park to enjoy the incredible Harrison Lake, which is 680 km away, about 8 to 10 hours by car. The distance is truly vast, but the views along the way are breathtaking. You'll literally want to stop every 5 minutes to capture the beauties that unfold along our route. Harrison Lake is much longer than it appears when you look at it from Harrison Hot Springs. Its length is 60 km and it spans over 200 square kilometres. It is now a freshwater lake, but thousands of years ago, it was not a lake at all, but a branch of the sea. Its depth ranges from just a few metres to a maximum depth of 279 m. It supports a rich biodiversity of both seasonal and permanent animal species. Fishing, boating, windsurfing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing or simply soaking in the hot springs pool – it's the perfect place to quench your thirst for adventure. Harrison Lake is entirely pure glacial water.

Day 10

Farewell, Canada!

We set off towards Vancouver, which is 150 km away, about 3 hours by car. It is often said to be the most beautiful city in the world and the best place to live. There's even a term for the city's urban planning and architecture – Vancouverism. The population is around 630 thousand people. A large part of it lives in the city centre, with plenty of green spaces, and people rely significantly on public transport. On one side, majestic mountains rise around the city, and on the other – the Pacific Ocean spreads its endlessness. Truly a very interesting and different city.

Next, a flight from Vancouver to Sofia follows.

WHY TRAVEL WITH US?

Who are we?

Panic Frame & Travel is not a commercial travel agency. We don't offer you tranquility, tickets, or accommodation in an all-inclusive hotel with white tablecloths. We see ourselves as Tarzan tourists, organizing journeys to hard-to-reach places, encountering wild nature, and traveling by campers, catamarans, off-road jeeps, and even helicopters.
