Why Dominican Republic?
The House
The House is not a hotel. It is not a resort. It is not a package holiday with a wristband.
The House is a private villa right by the ocean, a closed-off group and a rhythm that doesn't follow the clock. Villa del Mar is an exclusive residence in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. 13 bedrooms, infinity pool, swim-up bar, jacuzzi, and private beach. No hotel flows. No outsiders. Just our group, our chef, our bar, and our DJ.
January in the Caribbean. 26 people. 10 days with a simple agenda: beach, pool, music, boats, and that freedom for which you say, "this is what it was worth it for".

Is The House for you?
If you're tired of all-inclusive wristbands and hotel buffets, here, the meals are cooked by a private chef, and the bar is yours.
If you love parties but not clubs full of strangers, here, the music plays for 26 people, selected to fit.
If you want the ocean without crowds, the private beach and the catamaran are just for us.
If you're travelling alone and want to return with 25 new friends, The House is just for that.
If you simply want 10 days where you don't think about anything, the staff takes care of absolutely everything.

Is the Dominican Republic safe?
Tourist areas are safe. We travel in an organized group with a local guide, so there's nothing to worry about. Standard precautions: don't leave valuables unattended and be mindful in crowded places.
What health precautions should I take for the Dominican Republic?
There are no compulsory vaccines. Consult with your personal doctor for recommended precautions before your journey. Use insect repellent, especially in the evening. Drink only bottled water.
Do I need a visa for the Dominican Republic?
No, for Bulgarian citizens, a visa is not required for stays up to 90 days. The tourist card (US$10) has been included in the price of the plane ticket since 2018. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
What currency is used in the Dominican Republic and how do I pay?
The official currency is the Dominican Peso (DOP). US dollars are accepted in tourist areas, but the exchange rate isn't favourable. Card payments are common in hotels and restaurants. For smaller establishments and markets, you'll need cash in Pesos.
What's the weather like in the Dominican Republic?
Tropical climate all year round. The dry season (December-March) is the most pleasant: 18-29°C. The hot and rainy season lasts from May to November (23-35°C). Hurricane season is June-November, but our trips are planned outside the peak months. The southern coast is drier than the northern.
Is there internet and mobile coverage in the Dominican Republic?
Wi-Fi is available in most hotels and restaurants. Mobile coverage is strong in cities and resorts. In more remote areas, coverage might be weak. A local SIM card (Altice or Claro) is a cheap and convenient option.
Can I fly a drone in the Dominican Republic?
Drones under 2 kg do not require a permit. Heavier drones require registration with IDAC (up to 25 working days for processing). Declare the drone at customs. Most resort complexes ban drones on their premises. Fly only during the day.
