Morocco: A Journey That Starts Solo, But Never Ends That Way

What if the path you've always walked isn’t the one that will take you to where you truly want to be? What if the best stories don’t start with a plan, but with an impulsive decision - with a ‘why not?’.
Imagine waking up not to an alarm, but to the first rays of the desert sun (very poetic, but it's true). That your day doesn’t start with the usual commute to the office, but with a stroll through the chaotic markets of Marrakech. That there are no familiar faces around you, yet seven days later you're laughing as if you've known each other for years.
For some, Morocco is just a destination. For others - an experience that rewrites their concept of travel. Meet Plamen Petrov - a man who set off with a suitcase and returned with stories he never expected to tell.
“It all started with tequila and became something more” - Plamen Petrov

What were your first impressions?
“Right from reading the itinerary, my gut feeling was telling me I was diving into something different. I expected to meet people with broader perspectives and an adventurous spirit. And there it was, just minutes after stepping into the villa, the cheerful tequila welcome shots and smiles confirmed I was at the right SPOT.”
What was the most unexpected moment?
“There were many moments, but the most unexpected? The flat tyres. Yes, car tyres! On the way back to the villa, not one, but two blew out. Any normal group would see this as a problem. Us? It turned into an impromptu roadside party - dancing, laughter, selfies, and cheers. Who said incidents can't be fun?”
What did a typical day in Morocco look like?
“We would start the mornings with games - sometimes to get to know each other, sometimes just for laughs. Then a city tour, a stroll through the souk, sometimes getting lost (willingly or not). The best part was in the evening - gatherings with the group, a traditional dinner, and conversations that start on the topic of travel and end with laughter until tears. And if you think the desert is quiet - wait until you see what happens when you gather the right people around a campfire.”

How did the group change from the start to the end?
“At the beginning, everyone was different, each with their own story. But in the end? Barriers fell. There were no ‘strangers,’ no ‘where are you from?’, just a group of people who happened to be at the same SPOT at the same time, making this moment unique.”
What would you say to someone who is still wondering?
“My advice? Jump! Life isn’t meant for wondering and thinking. Jump!”
Now it’s your turn.
Have you ever asked yourself ‘What if?’
What if this very encounter with new people becomes the start of something bigger? What if this very night in the desert changes the way you look at life? What if stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t a risk, but an opportunity?
Morocco won’t give you all the answers. But it will ask the right questions. And the only way to understand the answers is to set off.
We'll be in Morocco from 21 September to 1 October.
